Mapúa University is a Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia Top 500-ranked university (2019 and 2020). It is known as the Philippines’ premier engineering and technological school founded in 1925 by Don Tomas Mapúa, the first registered Filipino architect.
The University is the first school in Southeast Asia to receive an ABET recognition for its engineering programs. To date, it holds the most number of ABET-accredited programs for a single campus in the country with 11 engineering and three (3) computing programs (www.abet.org). ABET accreditation signifies that Mapúa’s engineering and computing programs meet the quality standards to produce graduates prepared to enter the global workforce, making it easier for them to get careers in multinational companies and seek a license in the United States.
Eight (8) of Mapúa’s engineering programs are also accredited by the Philippine Technological Council – Accreditation and Certification Board for Engineering and Technology (PTC-ACBET). COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The Civil Engineering program aims to provide the highest quality, broad-based technical, scientific, and liberal education to enable students to qualify for graduate or advanced education and professional work in a wide range of civil engineering activities.
It adopts an outcomes-based learning experience program covering structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, water resources engineering, construction engineering and management and environmental engineering.
The program’s thrust is to create and maintain an outcomes-based educational environment that shall enable graduates to practice as successful civil engineers for the advancement of society and to promote professionalism in engineering practice.

2. A request of “transfer of credentials” from the Registrar’s Office of the school where the baccalaureate degree was obtained. Mapúa graduates are exempted.
3. At least two letters of recommendation from previous professors and/or current employers.
4. Two copies of accomplished application forms with 2” x 2” (identical) pictures.
5. Additional requirements for international students:
• For non-native English speakers
– A score of at least 500 in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam is required.
6. The application form and all supporting documents shall be forwarded to the Dean of Graduate Studies. An application will not be processed until all required credentials have been received. Applicants are advised to arrange for the transmittal of all documents well ahead of the application deadline.
7. All first-time applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of P400. For non-resident foreign applicants, the application fee is US$50 payable to Mapúa Institute of Technology in cashier’s check or postal money order.
