- The application for admission will be available as of 5 p.m. Newfoundland Time on the date indicated.

Early application is always encouraged as it will give you the appropriate time to have an admission decision, receive academic advice, assess possible transfer credits, and register for courses.
High school students applying for the fall semester must apply by March 1 to be considered for early entrance scholarships.
International application deadlines
International applications are not normally accepted following early June for the fall semester, or the priority deadline for winter or spring semesters, due to the time required to apply, process the application, and apply for a visa/study permit.
Applicants are advised to apply at least 12 weeks before the start of their intended semester. Check with the nearest visa application centre to determine visa processing time required as this will alter your admission timeline.
After registration has begun
Once registration for a semester has started, course availability may become limited. Acceptance to Memorial does not guarantee the availability of desired or required courses. If you wish to apply after registration has started, you are encouraged to contact the Office of the Registrar before you apply to confirm course availability and to confirm that you can complete the admission process in time to begin the semester.
Application deferrals
If you’re not planning to attend or need to request an application deferral, please drop any registered courses and email the Admissions Office. Only requests with extenuating circumstances will be considered.

Graduate tuition fees at Memorial University are charged on a semester-by-semester basis and reflect the cost of the graduate program not the number of required courses. Memorial has three semesters per academic year: Fall (September – December), Winter (January – April), and Spring (May – August). Program fees are to be paid each semester as per the payment plans outlined below.

Graduate diploma and doctoral program fees (except for the PhD in Management) are fixed. Master’s students may have a choice among 3 payment plans:
- Plan A is normally recommended for full-time students (i.e., students who anticipate completing in 6 semesters or less).
- Plan B is normally recommended for part-time students (i.e., students who will require more than 6 semesters to complete).
- Full-time students in certain 1-year master’s programs may be eligible for Payment Plan C.

Other fees
Graduate students are also responsible for ancillary fees (including but not exclusive to student union fees, recreation fee, student services fee, campus renewal fee, health insurance, and dental insurance) listed in the Minimum Expense form.

Please note that graduate students who do not complete their programs in the number of semesters listed above will be required to pay a continuance fee for each additional semester required. If you finish your graduate program in fewer semesters than the payment plan, you must pay the remaining program fee in a lump sum. Please refer to the Minimum Expense form for more information.
