Mendoza College of Business International Admissions

International students are welcomed to apply for the majority of programs at Mendoza College of Business. The academic requirements for international students are the same as those for domestic students for applying to the US universities, except for the official scores of TOEFL and IELTS. There are different portals for undergraduate and graduate applications. The application fee is similar for UG and PG i.e, 100 USD.

Admission requirements:

  • GMAT/GRE score: This is important for almost every graduate program. Candidates can self-report the scores, but later on, the results should be sent by the testing agency. 
  • Transcripts: Official transcripts of all the institutes attended. Unofficial transcripts are also accepted, but later on, official transcripts will be required.
  • English language requirement: Official results of TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, DTE, etc, if possible.
  • Updated Resume/ CV
  • Letter of Recommendation: At least two LOR are required from the school counsellor, teacher, or employer.
  • Presentation: A presentation consisting of at least four slides should be submitted on the topic provided.
  • Essay: The college provides two topics for the essay. Candidates have to write in any one of them, which should be no more than two pages. These topics differ with every course and change every year. International students will be informed about the topics while filling the application form. 
  • Financial statement: Financial documents like the bank statement should be submitted as proof that the student is eligible to pay for the tuition and living expenses of one academic year.
  • Copy of the passport.

Optional Requirement:

There are additional requirements for graduate programs. These requirements vary according to the course. Some of the additional documents are:

  • Statement of Purpose: Candidates have to write a short paragraph of not more than 100 words, defining their professional goals, and how Mendoza can help them achieve them (For MBA and dual degrees)
  • CSS Profile: If the candidate wants to apply for need-based financial aid, then they will have to fill in the details about family income, assets, and expenses in the CSS profile.

English Proficiency Test Scores for International Students

The candidate whose native language is not English will have to provide evidence to prove their proficiency in English. For undergraduate admission, if the student has written the ACT and SAT exams and has scored the minimum required marks then they will be waived to apply for English language exams. Scores accepted for SAT are 650 or above and ACT is 26 or above.

Visa Process for International Students

Once an international student is selected for admission, the college will send the Form I-20. Form I-20 will be required while applying for a US student visa. To receive Form I-20, the candidate should submit the proper financial documents, showing that they are eligible to pay the tuition and living expenses. The college has partnered with International Student and Scholar Affairs (ISSA), to help students help through visa processing and any other additional logistics.

Mendoza College of Business Undergraduate Admissions

The b-school offers undergraduate programs only in Bachelors in Business Administration. The major subject areas under BBA are Accounting, Finance, and Business Analytics.  For admission into the Mendoza College of Business undergraduate program, candidates will have to apply at the University of Notre Dame. If the applicants are selected at Notre Dame, then they can transfer themselves to Mendoza College of Business. If they are not selected for Mendoza College of Business, then they can apply to any other course at Notre Dame.
