Freshmen are awarded academic scholarships based on a combination of their standardized test score (ACT/SAT/CLT) and their high school GPA.

There is no deadline for academic scholarships, meaning this award can increase, according to our matrix, up until the time you enroll.  For that reason, we encourage students to take standardized tests multiple times up until the point of enrollment.

Amounts below are awarded to students per year as long as the student maintains a minimum of a 2.5 GPA.

Mississippi College Admission Requirements

Complete an application.

Complete our application at least two weeks prior to registration for each semester and pay the $25 application fee.

2. Send us your transcripts.

Freshmen should request that their high school mail an official copy of all high school work completed to date to the Office of Admissions.  Upon graduation, applicants must have a final transcript sent including the date of graduation, a signature by a school official, and an official seal.  Transcripts may be sent electronically via the transcript services eScrip or Parchment or mailed directly to the Office of Admissions at Box 4026, Clinton, MS  39058.

If you are receiving credit from another college or university (dual credit), you must submit this transcript to MC in addition to your high school transcript.  We require a student copy in order to determine your admission status if you have not completed your enrollment at the institution.  Student copies can typically be obtained by either accessing your online Student Portal at the institution, or by contacting your institution’s Registrar.  Acceptable student copies of a transcript must:a. Be a display of your actual transcript, not a screenshot of your student portal at the institution.b. Include your name.c. Include the institution’s name where you are receiving credit.d. Include all classes in which you are or have been enrolled.e. Include grades and/or “work in progress” if you are currently enrolled.f. Include ALL pages (i.e. you cannot only subnmit page 1 of 2). A final official transcript will be required once you complete your dual enrollment credit.

3. Submit your test scores.

Official ACT, SAT, or CLT test scores for all applicants who graduated from high school within the last five years must be received directly from ACT or SAT headquarters or from the studentโ€™s high school.  A minimum score of 18 ACT or a 940 SAT is required for standard admission to Mississippi College.  CLT test takers must score a 61 to be admitted to MC.  Once an application, official transcript, and test score are received, a decision will be made regarding the studentโ€™s admission.  If the student is accepted, they will receive a scholarship award offer via mail within 7-10 days of acceptance after awards are initially sent in October.  Scores should be directed to The Office of Admission (Box 4026, Clinton, MS  39058) directly from the high school or from ACT or SAT.

Beginning Fall 2020, MC adopted a test optional policy.  Students who do not provide a standardized test score for admission evaluation will be considered for admission based upon their high school GPA and other criteria such as an interview with staff and/or faculty.  Contact your Admissions Counselor for more information.

4. Send us your immunization certificate.

Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) Immunization Certificate is required.  One MMR immunization in the past ten years or two in a lifetime are required.  This document can be faxed, emailed, or hand delivered to the Office of Admission.

Note:  If your degree is 100% online, you do not need to submit an immunization record.

5. Pay your housing fee.

For students seeking on-campus housing, a one-time $200 housing fee is required in order to reserve a spot in the residence halls for the studentโ€™s desired entry term.  This fee is nonrefundable, so we advise students to pay this fee when they are certain they will be attending MC. However, max housing capacity does typically occur and the earlier this fee is paid, the more likely a student is to secure a room on campus. See the Office of Residence Life for more information.

Special Requirements.

GED

Applicants who have not completed high school will be considered for admission upon achieving passing scores on the General Education Development (GED) test.

Homeschool Students

For homeschooled students, a self-reported transcript that demonstrates completion of a high school equivalent curriculum is accepted.

For all students, Mississippi College reserves the right to require additional proof of academic achievement determined by the Director of Admissions.
