Course details

This course is ideally suited to individuals who want to balance their personal and professional commitments with their academic development through a Masters degree. It offers a well-balanced blend of theory and practice which prepares you for work as a Project Manager in the construction industry.

What you study

You’ll study seven modules in total, with a maximum of two modules at a time over each trimester. The order taken will depend upon when you start this course. 

Trimester 1 of academic year:โ€ขProject Management โ€ขProcurement Strategy

Trimester 2 of academic year:โ€ขProject Risk Management โ€ขProject Appraisal and Finance

Trimester 3 of academic year:โ€ขStrategic Management โ€ขProduction Management

The Dissertation module (60 credits) is run each Trimester and can only be taken after successful completion of the above modules.

For the award of MSc Construction Project Management you must successfully pass all  seven modules, giving a total of 180 credits. All modules are 20 credits, except where indicated.

You can pay for this course flexibly on a module-by-module basis and this means that you do not have to pay the full course cost upfront.

Entry requirements

The entry requirement for this course is a UK Honours degree at 2:2 or above. We welcome applicants with an Honours degree in any discipline. 

We may also consider applicants who have completed a Bachelor (Ordinary) degree if they have sufficient relevant work experience within the industry. There may also be an additional essay requirement if they apply with less than an Honours degree. This would be confirmed on submission of the application to the Admissions Team.

As this course is accredited by Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the minimum level of qualification that can be considered is at Bachelor (Ordinary) degree level.
