UMass Amherst is an amazing, financially viable option for in-state students. As an in-state student, I can state that I am paying a very reasonable price for my education. I have enjoyed every class I have taken so far and have had amazing, dedicated professors. There is an abundance of extracurricular activities to choose from and there is always something to do on campus. It is easy to get caught up in the party culture however, it is just as easy to avoid it. Downtown Amherst and the surrounding towns, namely Northampton, are fun to explore and are easily accessible by the PVTA bus system. The campus food is amazing; the food does get repetitive at times, but there are many dining halls that offer different options daily. Overall, I am thrilled with UMass and feel that I am getting more than my money’s worth!

University Of Massachusetts Amherst Acceptance Rate
University of Massachusetts–Amherst admissions is more selective with an acceptance rate of 64% and an early acceptance rate of 75.1%. Half the applicants admitted to UMass Amherst have an SAT score between 1190 and 1390 or an ACT score of 26 and 32. However, one quarter of admitted applicants achieved scores above these ranges and one quarter scored below these ranges. The application deadline is Jan. 15 and the application fee at University of Massachusetts–Amherst is $80.
UMass is quite selective with an acceptance rate of 61 percent, so incoming online master’s students must fulfill certain academic criteria. Graduate applicants must possess at least a four-year baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or non-U.S. equivalent. Residents of Alabama, Arkansas, and Kansas can’t be currently accepted for online degree programs due to regulation changes. Most master’s programs require students to obtain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in the final 60 credits of undergraduate work. University Of Massachusetts Amherst Ranking
UMass began life in 1863 as the Massachusetts Agricultural College. It took on its current name in 1947. It is the overarching body of the five noted campuses located in Amherst, Boston, Dartmouth, Lowell and UMass Medical School in Worcester. It is the only public research system in Massachusetts and one of the most highly regarded public university systems in the world.
