The Computer Science curriculum is designed to give students an understanding of the principles and applications of computer science. The program is designed to prepare students for high-technology careers, higher level education goals and lifelong learning. The CS undergraduate program has a strong foundation in mathematics, science and engineering. Its curriculum includes substantial coursework in mathematics, including discrete structures, algorithms, probability theory and statistics; science, including computer systems organization (computer architecture), operating systems (e.g., UNIX), database systems; and engineering principles such as logic design (digital logic circuits), embedded systems (microprocessors), software engineering (programming languages).
