What is the LVN/Military to A.D.N. Mobility Program?
The LVN/Military to A.D.N. Mobility Program at St. Philip’s College is a one-year program consisting of three consecutive semesters utilizing online, face to face and lab/clinical experiences to meet the educational requirements for the students to become Registered Nurses. Admission to the LVN/Military to A.D.N. Mobility Program is held once each academic year, with admitted students to begin studies in the Spring semester.
What will I learn?
The student can learn both the art and science of nursing; both are necessary for a registered nurse to practice nursing care. A variety of learning venues include the classroom, a fully equipped simulation hospital on campus, and direct patient care in the hospital or other clinical settings provide the experiences to enable the graduate to enter the profession as a competent novice nurse.
What can I do with this course of study?
Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will receive an Associate of Applied Science degree and be eligible to take the National Council Licensing Exam for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Upon passing the exam, the graduate will be a registered nurse in the State of Texas and ready to begin a career in the nursing profession. St. Philip’s College maintains relationships with several universities. If interested, the graduate may transfer to a university program to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

What’s special about the program?
The LVN/Military to A.D.N. Mobility Program is an accelerated pathway to an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Nursing. Nursing courses are taught over three consecutive semesters. Those eligible for entry include the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). The co-requisite clinical courses are held face to face in San Antonio Texas. Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) meet the LVN to A.D.N entry requirements by virtue of their graduation from an accredited Vocational Nursing program and licensure as an LVN.
