This is our MBA
When it comes to choosing an Executive MBA, there is a lot to be taken into consideration. The content of the program, its reputation, the potential network you’ll gain, but also the location and setting of the school. Here we are proud to offer you Stockholm, a city in motion filled with opportunities, and a leading innovation and tech hub.“With the arsenal of skills that I have learnt through the SSE MBA program I now feel fully equipped for the types of challenges that arise in my new role in a way I wasn’t prior to undertaking the MBA. The theoretical learnings applied in real time in live projects proved to be a great combination that both accelerated and crystallised my learnings and applications. I never expected to be doing what I am doing now, nor did I expect the SSE MBA to prove so valuable.”Jonathan Leishman, AustraliaInvestment Manager at Leishman Trusts and Family Office, Director at Bridj Technology, Co-Founder at Barns Lane Farm
Sweden is the birthplace of well-established global companies like IKEA, Ericsson, Volvo and H&M, with its capital being home to more recent global giants born from the digital revolution, such as Skype, Spotify, Mojang and King. These companies didn’t reach greatness by mimicking giants from the past, but by being informal and fast, by imagining the future and turning the courage to be different into products that truly changed the world.
Our MBA will help you grow into broader responsibilities more efficiently, sharpen your analytical skills, increase your financial understanding and prepare you for the global business world. You will create new skillsets, gain a stronger confidence and build valuable networks without putting your career on hold. But above all, you will grow and develop as a person and as a leader.
In the latest FT ranking of Executive MBA programs we are now ranked as number 64 in the world! We are at rank 39 for CSR and Sustainability, and at number 26 in the world for work experience, which refers to the seniority and type of positions held by participants before starting the MBA program. It also shows that our alumni have had an average salary increase of 57 % after the program. Furthermore, our courses in Accounting and Finance are both at rank 8 among over 100 Executive MBA programs in the world, when ranked by alumni.

Before you apply
Our participants are working professionals with full-time jobs and promising careers. To do an Executive MBA requires the support both from your employer and your family. Most of our participants are fully sponsored and financed by their employer, but it is also possible to self-finance the tuition fee.
Attend an information event. To get as detailed information as possible and a better understanding of the SSE MBA program we recommend you to attend an information session. If our dates and venues don’t match your calendar please feel free to book a personal meeting or contact us by phone or email. You can also bring your manager.
Where are you now and where do you want to be? What are your strengths and weaknesses? What are your development needs? Before you ask your employer to invest in you and support you in doing the SSE Executive MBA you might think this through and prepare your pitch. Do you have a common development plan in place?
What are the challenges you see for your organization? Review the different program modules and courses and see how they fit your challenges. The program is all about using the models and implementing what you learn. You learn together with the other participants, SSE faculty and case sponsors and will have ample opportunity to analyze different parts of your organization and develop recommendations for action and drive real, measurable change.
Bring new insights, perspectives and develop inhouse knowledge on how to analyze challenges, and to lead in both a sustainable and innovative way. Throughout the program all participants pursue a number of live projects in real organizations. These projects let you learn in depth, in real life, but also give back to your organization. It can be a financial analysis, marketing strategy or a strategy project. To do a debreifing at work after a campus week, perhaps with the closest management team, can also be a good idea and a way to let more people learn and develop, to introduce new ways of doing things, but also to showcase yourself and your development.
Your private time invested in the program will benefit the organization. An Executive MBA requires dedicated and committed participants, there is a lot of time invested. Not only during the campus weeks, when attendance in class is mandatory. You, yourself as participant, will invest a lot of your own private time to self-studies. Time invested in your own development which will benefit your organization. Discuss with your employer how to get the most out of the program.
Talk to an alum of the Executive MBA at SSE. To know what it is really like to do the SSE MBA Executive Format the best way is to talk to someone who has already done the program. Contact us and we can connect you with someone in the same industry, with the same academic background, same private situation with kids or whatever questions you might have. You can also read more here about what our alumni say about the program.

Visas
If you are a citizen of a country that does not require a visa to enter into Sweden you can travel to Sweden and stay here for three months during one year, so no visa is required for the SSE MBA. But, if you are from a country where visa is required to enter Sweden you need to apply for a visa at your local embassy. Please note that since these are not full-time university studies you will not be eligible for a student visa.
Throughout the SSE MBA program, some modules will be held off campus. These modules may be located in areas and/or countries that require permits or visas in order to enter. Since our participants come from many different countries it is solely the participant’s responsibility to find out what is required in their specific case, and, if necessary, to apply for and undertake any actions needed in order to obtain such permits or visas.
