Founded in 1920.

Entry Requirements

Average entry requirement BBB–AAB at A level or equivalent.
Integrated foundation programmes in Sciences and Engineering have lower requirements.
From 2017 each programme will have specific A level and GCSE requirements.
English Language Entry Requirements
You will be expected to show a good level of English for entry into the UK and for our courses. English language requirements are stated on the individual course pages. In most cases we require an IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) for undergraduate courses and IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent) for postgraduate entry.

Swansea University also recognises a range of English language tests and qualifications which are also recognised by the UK Home Office as Secure English language tests (SELTS).

Can I still apply if I do not meet the minimum requirements?
If you do not meet the minimum requirements for direct entry to the first year of a degree scheme, you can be considered for entry into a four year integrated degree scheme, also International College Swansea Wales (ICWS) offer a range undergraduate and postgraduate pathways leading to a degree award from Swansea University.

Can I apply as a visiting or exchange student?
Swansea University has over 100 partners across the world and we welcome applications from students wishing to study at Swansea as an exchange or visiting student.

Exchange students: must be selected by their home University for exchange with Swansea University. You will receive detailed information on the application procedure from your home University’s International Exchange / Study Abroad Office.

Most academic departments will ask for an IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent) for undergraduate degrees but there are exceptions and you should always check with the individual departments, or check the conditions included in your offer letter.

International Applicants

International Applicants may apply through UCAS or direct – please check out our International pages for more information.

For UK and EU students
All applications for full-time undergraduate degrees and Higher National Diplomas must be made through UCAS, the Universities Colleges and Admissions Service. You should also use UCAS if you wish to transfer from one university to another.
Please note that UCAS charges an application fee of £24 for two to five university choices, or £13 for just one choice. Further information is available on the UCAS website.

The application deadline for courses starting in 2018 is 15 January 2018 apart from Graduate Entry Medicine for which the closing date is 15 October 2017
