The Position

Clean Tech Hub is seeking a Junior Associate, Environment and Climate Change who will assist in implementing the Environment and Climate Change department to establish Clean Tech Hub’s position on environment and climate change particularly in the area of circular economy and WASH projects. 

Responsibilities

The Junior Associate will be working in the Environment and Climate Change practice at Clean Technology Hub to carry out the following duties and tasks: 

  • Supporting the Chief Innovation Officer and Manager, Environment and Climate Change in building out this practice.
  • Conduct research and content development on local and regional environmental and climate change issues.
  • Identify key stakeholders to help in driving the Environment and Climate Change department
  • Assisting with partnership and fundraising (including grant writing and grant management) for the Environment and Climate Change department.
  • Assist in Project initiation, project management and project delivery on Environment and Climate Change issues.
  • Keep abreast of current trends in the environment and climate smart technologies, as well keep an eye on relevant events and programs in this space within Nigeria, Africa and the world at large.
  • Assist in business development including fleshing out opportunities and proposals to drive initiatives, programs and policies – specifically related to Environment and Climate Change.
  • Provide assistance in project deployment and delivery and carry out post project meaningful Monitoring and Evaluation processes.
  • Organize workshops, meeting and events with relevant sectoral and industry stakeholders.

Essential Knowledge and Requirements

  • Must be committed and passionate about CTH’s goal, objectives and mission.
  • 0-2 years working experience.
  • A strategic mind that is focused on execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field (a degree in Social Sciences, Environmental Science, or Public Policy is an added advantage).
  • Outstanding research, analytical and writing skills.
  • Ability to work with speed.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with ongoing debates and initiatives in the field of climate change, environmental sustainability and international development.
  • Ability to write clearly, concisely and consistently and be able to present issues to a wide variety of local and international audiences.
  • High level of determination and tenacity. 
  • Experience in the usage of office software packages (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Skype, Zoom, etc.).
