The University of Bridgeport (UB) is a private, four year university located in Bridgeport, Connecticut. It was founded in 1927.
UB has 14 academic divisions: the School of Arts and Sciences, the Ernest C Trefz School of Business, the College of Public and International Affairs, the School of Engineering, the Shintaro Akatsu School of Design, the Fones School of Dental Hygiene, the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, the College of Chiropractic, the School of Education, the College of Naturopathic Medicine, the Acupuncture Institute, the Nutrition Institute, the Physician Assistant Institute and the School of Nursing. The chiropractic college was the first of its kind in the United States.
The university prides itself on its diversity. Both staff and students come from a wide range of backgrounds, states and countries.
The Shintaro Akatsu School of Design (SASD) features high-tech computer labs and studio spaces. Students can use top-of-the-range applications to create designs on the 3D printer, or work in traditional mediums such as clay, acrylic and furniture.
UB’s 50 acre seaside campus features a number of stately Victorian homes. Several were owned by the family of circus showman PT Barnum, a native of Bridgeport.
Bridgeport lies on the Long Island Sound and boasts sea views and beautiful seasonal changes. As the most populous city in Connecticut, Bridgeport has a wealth of employment and internship opportunities, as well as parks, shopping centres and its own zoo. New York City is one hour away Boston two hours, and Long Island a short ferry ride.

The University of Bridgeport (UB) is a private, non-profit university located in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
