University of Calgary Campus and Residence

There are five campuses of the University of Calgary across the world – four in Calgary and one in Doha. The main campus is located in the northwest quadrant of Calgary and is home to 11 of the 14 faculties.

  • The Foothills Campus is a place for advanced medical research, Cumming School of Medicine and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine are headquartered here.
  • Downtown Campus is home to Haskayne School of Business and The School of Public Policy.
  • Started in the early 1970s, Spy Hill Campus is home to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Sciences Research Station, and Wildlife Research Station.
  • Qatar Campus of the University of Calgary was opened in Doha, Qatar in 2007. The campus offers Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Nursing. The campus houses 450 students from 39 different countries, with 41 highly qualified Canadian faculty members.

Accommodation

  • As most of the undergraduate and graduate students reside on campus, the University of Calgary offers a range of residences on campus. Approximately 2,500 students and faculty members live on-campus.
  • Students under 21 get a single or double occupancy room in the dormitory-style residence.
  • The university also has studios, 1, 2 or 3-bedroom units with full kitchen for undergraduate students of the third year, graduate, transfer and international students to live more independently

University of Calgary Application Process

The application process at the University of Calgary is the same for both undergraduate and graduate programs. International applicants are advised to apply at least 10 months before the application deadline as it takes almost six months to get the study permit for Canada.

Basic Admission Requirements

  • Certified copy of academic transcripts/certificates.

How to Apply?

  • Go through the list of courses and select the one of interest.
  • Check the minimum eligibility criteria for the course.
  • Apply for the desired program at the University of Calgary.
  • After the completion of the application process, pay a non-refundable application fee of 110 USD.
  • All the required documents, English Proficiency test scores must be submitted before the deadline.
  • After the successful submission of the application form, it will be scrutinized.
  • UCalgary authorities will contact selected applicants for further process.

Work While You Study

A full-time student carrying a study permit can work-study in Canada regardless of the program of study. The Work-Study Program (WSP) of the university is designed to give a chance to the students to work part-time on-campus and off-campus during the academic year.

Off-campus or Co-op work opportunities

Applicants enrolled in full-time programs at UCalgary can work off-campus as well. The maximum time limit for a week is 20 hours (during regular sessions). International students enrolled full time may opt for co-op if they have a study permit and SIN.
