University of Calgary Campus and Accommodations
There are five campuses of the University of Calgary across the world, four in Calgary and one in Doha. The main campus is located in the northwest quadrant of Calgary and is home to 11 of the 14 faculties. Qatar Campus of the University of Calgary was opened in Doha, Qatar in 2007. It offers both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Nursing.
The Foothills Campus is a place for advanced medical research, Cumming School of Medicine, and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine are headquartered here. Downtown Campus is home to Haskayne School of Business and The School of Public Policy. Spy Hill Campus is home to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Sciences Research Station, and Wildlife Research Station.
The university campus manifests the academic, cultural, recreational activities of the college. The campus also involves students from all disciplines to its sports programs. The Olympic Oval of the university is presently the official training centre for Canadian National Speed Skating Team and Speed Skating Canada.
University of Calgary Accommodations
As most of the undergraduate and graduate students reside on campus, the University of Calgary offers a range of residences on campus. Approximately 2,500 students and faculty members live on-campus. Students under 21 get a single or double occupancy room in the dormitory-style residence. The Qatar Campus of the university houses 450 students from 39 different countries.
The university also has studios, one, two or three-bedroom units with full kitchen for undergraduate students of the third year, graduate, transfer and international students to live more independently. University of Calgary Application Process
The application process at the University of Calgary is the same for both undergraduate and graduate programs. International applicants are advised to apply at least 10 months before the application deadline as it takes almost six months to get the study permit for Canada.
