To better understand the financial reality of living and studying while attending UNB as a Graduate Student, we have created the following estimate of expenses for graduate students.

Expenses will consist of fees pertaining to the graduate program and living expenses. The fee structure will depend upon whether you are a domestic or international student, and whether you are in a research-based or course-based program. Some programs also require extra course fees.  Up-to-date tuition and fees information is maintained by UNB Financial Services please review their website for the tuition and fees for your program. 

The living expenses one can expect while living in New Brunswick are provided below. These are approximations and will be affected by to inflation and personal spending habits.

Master’s & PhD Tuition & Fees 

New Students Tuition & Fees

Students who began a new program of study in Fall 2019, or later.  This would include students who are being re-admitted to a program after an absence of 12 consecutive months.

Legacy Students Tuition & Fees

Students who were enrolled in a program in the 12 consecutive months prior to September 2019, and are continuing in their program.  Legacy graduate tuititon rates will end in 2024.

Tuition is what you pay for the courses you take. Fees are for specific services not included in tuition costs, including those collected on behalf of groups like the Student Union, student newspapers and student radio.

Payment deadlines

The deadline to pay your tuition varies by faculty and program. UNB charges a late payment fee of $75.

Payment deadlines

The deadline to pay your tuition varies by faculty and program. UNB charges a late payment fee of $75.

Entrance Scholarships

Entrance Scholarships of $4,000 each will be granted to MBA applicants based on academic merits. All full-time applicants will be automatically considered for a scholarship when their applications are reviewed for admission. No separate application is required.

Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis. To be considered for an award, the following minimum criteria are required:

  • Complete application package must be received by March 31;
  • Minimum GMAT score of 600; AND
  • Minimum undergraduate CGPA of 3.7/4.3.
