The University of Roehampton is a college community comprised of 4 university colleges, each with their own set of buildings, clubs, societies, learning and social activities, facilities including fantastic new library opened in 2017. History

During 2016 and 2017, Roehampton celebrated the foundation of one of our four historic Colleges, Whitelands, which was established in 1841 by the National Society. As one of the pioneers of training women as teachers, the University through Whitelands College has provided higher education to women for longer than any other institution in the country.

The University of Roehampton, formerly Roehampton Institute of Higher Education, is a public university in the United Kingdom, situated on three major sites in Roehampton, south-west London. The University has a range of specialist facilities for use in teaching and research. This includes: Biomechanics Laboratory, Physiology Laboratory, and Sport and Exercise Psychology laboratories. The University Library is open seven days a week during term time, with the PC suites open 24/7 nearly every day of the year. The library has more than 350,000 books, as well as a collection of e-books and electronic journals. The University is equipped with a state-of-the-art fitness centre, grass football pitches, a multi-use games area, studio facilities and a sports hall for indoor sports and classes.

University of Roehampton is located in the heart of South West London within easy reach of central London. Every student at Roehampton is a member of one of the Universityโ€™s four historic colleges – Digby Stuart, Froebel, Southlands and Whitelands. The University of Roehampton has a reputation for undertaking world-class research across all its academic departments, and in the last Research Excellence Framework was ranked the most research-intensive modern university in the UK. It has also been recognised with a Silver in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). University of Roehampton Open Days

There are a variety of ways to visit the University of Roehampton and learn more about courses, accommodation, student support, college life and more. Undergraduate Open Days consist of subject talks, campus and accommodation tours and the chance to meet current students. Campus Tours, which are led by current students, provide a chance to view accommodation, have a look around the campus and ask a current student any questions. Postgraduate events are also offered, as well as teaching training drop-in sessions which provide prospective students with the chance to speak to academic staff from the PGCE Primary and Secondary courses.

Graduate Outcomes

The graduate outcomes for the University of Roehampton show that six months after leaving university, 94% of graduates are in work or further study. (Source: DLHE Survey 2016, updated 05.11.19) Additionally, the latest official statistics on Longitudinal Education Outcomes (LEO) on graduate employment and earnings show that Roehampton’s graduates are earning above the national average. University of Roehamptonโ€™s courses are designed to teach students industry-specific skills that employers value. The Universityโ€™s Careers Support service provides helpful resources such as online skills courses, job directories and mock job interviews, as well as career advice and one-to-one support. A Career Mentoring Scheme is also available which links current students with an experienced Roehampton graduate.

Facilities and Campuses

The University of Roehamptonโ€™s 54-acre campus is made up of historic buildings alongside a range of modern, cutting edge teaching and learning facilities. Students benefit from the use of specialist facilities such as a food laboratory, Sport and Exercise Physiology Laboratory and a library that has a reputation for being one of the best university libraries in London. The campus is also home to a variety of social spaces, bars and catering outlets which host regular music, food and club events.
