Eligibility & Entry Requirement
- Two essays are required and must be uploaded to studentโs online applications. The optional essay allows them to tell them more about themselves or explain an area of potential concern.
- Applicants are required to hold a Bachelorโs degree with a related field. A combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of this requirement.
Required Document List
- Unofficial transcripts from all college institutions in which a degree was granted are required. Documents should be generated by the institution (e.g., a scan of an official document or a PDF created from a student portal).
- Certificates of completion for non-transcripted coursework may also be submitted as evidence of this requirement.
- Two letters of recommendation are required. Recommendations could come from studentโs professors or supervisors at work.

- International students and scholars should always consult international service advisors at the Office of Global Learning before leaving the U.S. to ensure students can return to the U.S. without incident. For example, if students have a single-entry U.S. visa and they plan to return to the U.S., they will need to obtain a new U.S. visa while they are abroad.

Work Study
Work-Study is a great way to help pay for studentโs education while gaining invaluable experience by working part-time. By participating in the Work-Study Program they will learn work skills that are transferable to future career paths. The Federal and State Work-Study Programs give them the opportunity to work part-time while going to school. As an employer, it is a way to create more opportunities as their salary costs will be subsidized by the Work-Study Program.
- Work on-campus or off-campus during their time at UW.
- If students are enrolled during the summer quarter, they may be eligible for part-time Work-Study. They may work a maximum of 19 hours per week, just like during the academic year.

Basic Admission Requirements
Undergraduate Admissions: High school degree, College coursework, Transcripts, Essay, Short Response, SAT or ACT (if applicable), TOEFL (Minimum: 76, Recommended: 92 or higher) or IELTS (Minimum: 6.0, Recommended: 7.0) and proof of financial ability.
Graduate Admissions: Equivalent of at least a four-year U.S. bachelor’s degree or a masters degree or professional degree, GRE (if required), TOEFL (minimum score of 80, recommended score of 92 or higher), Letters of recommendation, Statement of Purpose, transcripts and degree statement (if required by the program), proof of financial ability and specific program requirements.
Note that the instituteโs graduate schools do not require IELTS tests unless it was taken on or before 2017.
