University of West London is a public university located in Ealing, London. It was founded in 1891 as the Northampton Institute and became the Polytechnic of Central London in 1970 before gaining university status in 1992.

The University of West London offers domestic and international students a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses. They also offer English language courses for international students.

The University of West London provides financial support for eligible students through its scholarships, bursaries and fee waivers scheme. This includes bursaries for low-income families and disabled students as well as grants for study abroad.

Tuition fees are charged annually per course and vary from one year to another based on factors such as your nationality, whether you are studying part-time or full-time, whether you will live on campus or off campus, etc.. There is also an annual student registration fee of £100 which covers costs such as insurance premiums, examinations and graduation costs if applicable.

How much you pay for tuition fees depends on whether you are assessed as a UK or international student. Before you apply, it is important to know which of these categories you belong to.

Find out if you will qualify for UK or International tuition fees by visiting the UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) website.

If you are an EU student and are starting a course in February 2021 you will pay UK fees.

If you are an EU student and are starting a course in February 2021 you will pay UK fees.

For courses starting after February 2021, EU students will pay International fees.

Refunds are calculated based on when you give official notice of withdrawing from a course. Official notice is when the Head of School (or their nominated deputy) receive your signed, official withdrawal form. All refunds are subject to an administration fee.

If you are coming to the UK for more than six months to study with us on a Tier 4 visa (or for any period if you are applying for a visa within the UK) you will need to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge before you submit your visa application. 

Please use the Gov.uk website to calculate how much you will need to pay. You will need to know the start and end date of the course, which you will find on your CAS letter. Once you have paid the surcharge, you will be given a reference number which you will need to state on your visa application.

The non-refundable deposit amount you need to pay will be indicated in your offer letter. By the time you enrol, you will need to have paid a minimum of 50% of your fees. The remaining balance can be paid in 3 equal instalments across the first 3 months of study.

For visa purposes, you will need to show UKVI that you have funds for payment of the fees and enough money to support yourself (maintenance). The rules do change from time to time and we recommend you look at the UKVI website regularly.

Payment directly from your bank account

If you are paying your fees to the University from your bank account, please ask the bank to include your name, course and student ID number when making the transaction.

The Ealing site of the West London Campus has superb facilities including the Paul Hamlyn Library, a student radio station, an auditorium, music studios, industry-standard labs, mock court room, restaurants and cafés, and a sports centre.

The Brentford site is home to the Nursing Simulation Centre, which is only a short distance from Ealing and easily accessible on the free shuttle bus.
