If you are interested in becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), there are many options available to help you get started. In North Carolina, there are many LPN programs with no waiting list and which can be completed in as little as 18 months.
The first step is to decide which program is right for you. There are several different types of LPN programs available in North Carolina: accelerated, part-time and full-time. Depending on your availability and needs, you may not need to go to school full time. You may also be able to complete the program in less than 18 months if it is accelerated or part-time.
If you do not have any experience with nursing or healthcare, then it may be best for you to start out with an accelerated program that will allow you to get the education and training needed to become an LPN more quickly than if you were starting from scratch. These programs tend to cost more money but they can save time and money in the long run because they are faster than traditional programs which take longer than 2 years before graduating their students into the workforce as LPNs who are ready for employment opportunities right away after graduation day!

Nursing: Practical Nursing
Would you like to work in the exciting field of healthcare providing direct patient care within a team of healthcare providers? The Practical Nursing diploma prepares you to assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or other approved licensed healthcare professional. You must pass a licensing exam (NCLEX-PN) in order to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Employment opportunities are found in a variety of healthcare settings such as hospitals, long-term care facilities and physician offices. The Practical Nursing program at GTCC is approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
