Aspen University is happy to welcome two new members of the administration team. We’re excited to have them join us and help improve our school, as they bring years of experience from other universities as well as their own personal goals for Aspen University.

From helping grow the university’s reputation globally through his connections in industry and government, Nathan Black has been hired as Vice President for Development. He will be tasked with increasing public awareness of Aspen University by using his connections to raise funds for scholarships, student programs and facilities improvements—including a new library building! Nathan comes from Harvard University where he led efforts to attract donors from around the world by hosting international symposiums involving some of today’s most influential thinkers on business strategy.”

Subsection: Dean of enrollment services

The dean of enrollment services is responsible for student enrollment, retention, graduation and satisfaction.

  • Enrollment: The dean of enrollment services manages the process of admitting students into Aspen University. This includes reviewing applications and making admissions decisions based on established criteria. The dean also sets policy within this area as well as oversees admissions staff members who assist with processing applications to Aspen University.
  • Retention: The dean focuses on improving student retention at Aspen University by developing strategies that will support students through their time at the university so that they have a better chance of graduating from classes or programs in which they enrolled. Some examples of these strategies include offering tutoring services or providing mentorship opportunities for struggling students to get them back on track with their studies.
  • Graduation: Working with faculty members, the dean makes sure all required coursework has been completed prior to graduation; he also ensures graduates have met all financial obligations before receiving diplomas/certificates from Aspen University.* Satisfaction: To ensure every student feels comfortable during their time at school, the dean monitors facilities such as housing arrangements (where applicable) along with other aspects of student life such as parties held by campus organizations or athletics teams’ events scheduled during evenings/weekends so no one feels left out or excluded due to lack of participation options available within our community atmosphere!

Subsection: Dean of academics

The Dean of academics is in charge of the curriculum and the professors. He makes sure that all classes meet their requirements, and he helps organize any events or activities on campus. The dean also works with students to make sure they’re having fun and are getting an education at Aspen University.

The dean has an office in Campus Center, where he can be reached by phone or email if you need advice on anything related to academics at Aspen University.

Subsection: Financial aid director

The financial aid director is the person in charge of overseeing all aspects of the university’s financial aid policy. This includes:

  • Enforcing the rules by which students are awarded aid, whether it’s in the form of grants or loans.
  • Processing applications for students who want to be considered for financial aid.
  • Issuing refunds to students if their tuition costs change after they’re enrolled (for example, if they drop a class).
  • Resolving appeals from students who think that their scholarships or grants are insufficient or unfair.

Aspen University offers an online RN-to-BSN completion program for registered nurses who wish to pursue a baccalaureate degree. With a liberal arts foundation, our RN-to-BSN completion program builds on initial nursing preparation with course work to enhance professional development, prepare for a broader scope of practice, and provide a better understanding of the cultural, political, economic, and social issues that affect patients and influence care delivery. All courses in the RN-to-BSN completion program are completed online. Full-time students can complete the RN-to- BSN completion program in as little as one year, enabling them to quickly achieve their educational goals and increase their options for career mobility.

The RN-to-BSN completion program is aligned to the AACN Baccalaureate Essentials:

Degree Requirements:

The RN-BSN completion program leads to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, which requires a total of 120 credits. These credits are accumulated as follows:

30 credits in liberal arts/general education:

These credits provide students with a broad background in liberal education as a foundation for the practice and education of nurses. Any remaining liberal arts/general education requirements after transfer credit evaluation must be completed prior to beginning the first course in the RN-BSN completion program’s course sequence.

60 block credits for RN license:

This requirement is satisfied by block transfer credit from an associate degree nursing program (e.g. ADN or ASN) or by the award of credit for diploma nursing coursework that resulted in passing the NCLEX and/or receiving a RN license. It is understood these degree programs include lower-division nursing credits and general education credits. However, these 60 block credits reflect work in nursing courses only and the experience related to having the RN license.

30 credits earned at Aspen University

  • 21 credits from upper-division nursing courses: The 21-credit upper-division nursing credit requirement must be completed with 7 courses offered by Aspen University. These courses are N490-N496.
  • 9 credits from health professions courses: This requirement consists of 9 credits of additional general education coursework that is directly relevant to and compliments the upper-division nursing curriculum within the completion program. These three courses are HUM410, HCA320, and CIS450. They allow students to explore diverse topics of importance to the delivery of health care while simultaneously gaining exposure to perspectives from related health care fields.
