Goal of the Programme
The main goal of the programme is to provide students with skills and knowledge that will enable them to pursue a career in water resources management and planning and/or undertake postgraduate studies in specialized areas in hydrology, environment and water resources management. The overall objective of this programme is to equip students with technical and managerial skills but also hands-on ability to adequately serve the water resources sector.


Minimum Admission Requirements
Admission to a Bachelor of Science in Water Resources Management degree programme will be based on any one of the following minimum qualifications:
a)    Holders of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade of C+ or equivalent with passes at C plain or above in Chemistry or Physics and any one of the following subjects: Biology, Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Agriculture or Geography.
b)    KCSE candidates with a mean grade of C+ and at least a C- in any of the core subjects in
(a)    above that have taken a foundation (bridging) course in those subjects.

Duration of each programme
The academic calendar for Bachelor of Science in Water Resources Management is divided into semesters, which comprise two (2) equal divisions/terms of 15 weeks in an academic year. The total duration of the programme is eight (8) semesters, equivalent to four academic years.

Classification of Degrees
In arriving at the decision as to the degree classification for each candidate, the
Faculty Board of Examiners shall consider, while observing regulation 4.4 (c) above, the overall mean mark obtained by the candidate and shall apply the principle that a mean score of:
70 – 100% = First Class Honours
60 – 69% = Second Class Honours (Upper Division)
50 – 59% = Second Class Honours (Lower Division)
40 – 49% = Pass
