COVID-19 Update

  • Most of the classes will start as planned on September 29 with in-person guidance ending before Thanksgiving.
  • Those traveling or coming back to Chicago for the Autumn session might need to show up sooner than usual. The university will provide updates if quarantine requirements change between now and the beginning of the session.
  • The last week of Autumn session instruction as well as reading period and finals period โ€“ from November 30 through December 12 โ€“ will occur completely remotely.
  • The university will provide a range of remote course options for students who are not being able to come back to campus in the coming quarter.
  • Numerous classes will incorporate a blend of face to face and remote guidance and conversation. Others will be directed completely remotely.
  • To enable new students to adapt to the University, priority for in-person classes will be given to courses that serve newly admitted students.

University of Chicago Booth School of Business international admissions

University of Chicago Booth School of Business accepts international applicants and the admission process is similar for both international and domestic applicants. However, international applicants need to meet some additional requirements. The applicants are required to register and create a username with a password for applying.

Application Fee: Full-time MBA program: 250 USD; Part-time and Executive MBA program: 175 USD

Eligibility:

  1. A college/university degree equivalent to a 4-year American baccalaureate degree/ 3-year international degrees.
  2. Fulfill English language requirements
  3. Minimum 2 to 3 years work experience in related field

Applicants should not send official transcripts until they receive an offer letter. Upon admission, the applicants are required to present official transcripts of the universities, college, or graduate institution that you have acquired education from.

English Language Requirements

Non-native English speaking international students are required to fulfill the minimum test score requirements of TOEFL/IELTSPTE to demonstrate their proficiency in English language. Scores are valid for a maximum of 2 years and should be sent directly from the testing agency.

Visa Process

After successful admission to the university and on receipt of the offer letter of admission International students can apply for a I-20 form. They can completely fill the I-20 form and pay the SEVIS-F1 fee and apply for a Student visa to study in the US (F-1/J-1 visa). Detailed information about the requirements and process of application to acquire a student visa is mailed to the admitted students in the spring. To meet the eligibility requirements the international students must present the following:

The University Of Chicago Booth School Of Business offers admission to students only after going through each application critically and fundamentally. Admissions are offered to students depending on their submission of documents, academic achievements, work experience, ELP, and GMAT/GRE test scores, letter of recommendations, and timely submission of the application form along with the application fee according to the programs they have opted for. After being selected the students are called for a personal interview within a few days. The decision notification dates for full-time MBA programs are December 3, 2020; March 18, 2021; May 20, 2021; for rounds 1, 2, and 3 respectively. International students are advised to apply in the initial rounds. Upon receiving the admission offer letter, the international students can apply for an F-1 visa or a J-1 visa.
