To qualify for a student visa, international students must prove adequate financial support for their first year of study. Students must also demonstrate a reasonable expectation of continued support for the duration of their academic programs. Therefore, the university must consider the students’ ability to finance their education when evaluating international applications. It is in the applicant’s best interest to be honest about his or her family’s ability to pay, including the exact amount the family is able to contribute to an Illinois Wesleyan education.
