Industrial Engineering Master (MSc.)

The Industrial Engineering Master course focuses on teaching engineers how to successfully perform management tasks in technology focused on international business operations.

While being introduced to the state of the art industrial engineering theory, concepts, and frameworks, experienced academics, and executives will teach students how to practically apply their knowledge in real-world business cases.

The program offers a diverse range of subjects including operational management of IT processes, business process controlling, logistics, management, and leadership and strategic planning application for a diverse range of technology companies from technology startups to multinational operations.

The master’s course in industrial engineering is a comprehensive addition to any academic engineering course. It provides an excellent preparation for engineering students pursuing a management career in a multinational operation.

One requirement for admission is the successful completion of a bachelor program in one of the fields of engineering.
Admission is decided solely by the admissions department of the University of Kiel.

The Master of Science in Industrial Engineering has been designed to prepare engineers for their future role as managers and leaders of international technology companies. While learning to understand and work with rigorous research concepts, theories, and frameworks in the field of industrial engineering, theoretically grounded academics and experienced business executives will train the students how to practically apply their knowledge into a real-world business context.

Admission Requirements

A successfully completed bachelor’s degree course in business Management / technical subject (e.g. engineering degree) with at least 180 credit points (in accordance with the ECTS – European Credit Transfer System) and with an overall grade of at least 2.5,

Initial university entrance qualification (university entrance diploma, high school diploma etc.)

Vocational experience in the field of industrial engineering of at least 1 year,

English proficiency with certification as proof, e.g. TOEFL test (internet-based) >78 points, IELTS >5, LCCI (level 2), FCE or at least 1 term of study at a college or 6 months’ occupational experience in an English-speaking Country.

International Applicants:

International and national applicants alike have to apply through Uni-Assist, University Application Service for International Students in Berlin, if they do not have a German university entrance qualification and wish to complete a master´s degree at Kiel University of Applied Sciences. Student visa:

You must apply for a visa if you don’t want to study online and prefer to come to Germany and participate in courses at the university in Kiel. If you are planning to study in Germany for more than 90 days you should apply for a National Visa for the purpose of study rather than a Schengen Visa, which will only allow you to stay in Germany for three months. As well as your student visa, you will also need to apply for a residence permit on arrival.
