Admission Requirements

The general criteria and admission requirements by most universities include good high school qualification and IELTS 4.5 for admission to the foundation year, IELTS 6.0 for direct admission to the bachelor degree.

Students must hold a good bachelor degree qualification and IELTS 6.5 score for admission to the master’s degree. PhD admission requirements include bachelor degree, master degree, PhD proposal and IELTS 6.5 score.

Prerequisites Needed to Study Marine Engineering in Canada

British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) offers a diploma in marine engineering. Memorial University of Newfoundland offers an undergraduate degree in Ocean and Naval Architecture Engineering.

For admission to BCIT’s diploma program, completion of high school is mandatory with English and math. Physics and chemistry are recommended. As well, a Transport Canada approved medical, hearing, and eyesight test is required.

High school completion is required for admission to MUN’s undergraduate program. English, math, and physics are required; chemistry is recommended.
