The LSU School of Social Work is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and has been offering graduate education since 1937. The experience was decent nothing too fancy. Definitely more complex then just going on campus and requires a harder work ethic.Freshman8 days agoOnline Learning.
For 2020, the Wall Street Journal/Higher Education Rankings placed the University No. 84 among public universities. The University was also ranked No. 33 out of 50 flagship institutions. I have taken many online classes while being a student here, both pre and post COVID. The professors are mostly skilled in using the online platform, but, in my experience, the professors can be slow to respond, if at all, to emails and messages. The online site is easy to use and user friendly.
The campus is beautiful despite the old buildings that need renovations. I feel safe walking around campus at nighttime. However, there have been many incidents concerning the administration, which reflects poorly on the overall atmosphere of the school.
LSU adapted wonderfully to accommodate all students and faculty. We switched to online learning relatively quickly and easily. I’ve been making great grades while still being educated by our university. We plan on having 100% full capacity classrooms in the fall of 22021.
LSU is a place of great people and great culture. The university has a lot of passion for its students, and LSU students become successful. I’ve learned a lot, made the memories of a lifetime, and met my greatest friends. Geaux TTigers!

BATON ROUGE – LSU is rated as a top 50 best value among public universities and 88th overall in Forbes 2018 America’s Best Value Colleges rankings.
LSU is the highest rated university in Louisiana on the list and the 44th best value among public universities in the nation, according to Forbes. Among SEC peers, LSU is the fifth best value ahead of Auburn University, University of Alabama, University of Kentucky, University of Mississippi and University of Missouri, among others.
“We are pleased to be recognized as one of the best values in the country by Forbes,” said LSU President F. King Alexander. “This ranking looks at what truly matters to parents and students: outcomes. Universities should be measured by the ways they impact families – student debt, starting salaries, graduation rates, and financial aid support. These are the areas important to students when making a college choice, and at LSU, these are the areas we focus on to make sure students obtain an affordable and competitive college degree.”
Forbes has released their America’s Best Value Colleges ranking for the last three years “to help students and their families evaluate the likely return on their investment.” For the ranking of 300 schools, Forbes scored universities on net price, net debt, alumni earnings, timely graduation, school quality and access for low-income students. The list evaluates institutions offering four-year degrees and does not include private for-profit schools.
