Admissions at Macquarie University are competitive as the institution records an acceptance rate of 40%. International students make up 27% of the total student population. Macquarie University Application Deadlines

Country-Specific Academic Requirements
Macquarie University 2020 admissions require specific (minimum) scores like language proficiency and school/college from Indian applicants.
For undergraduate admissions, Macquarie has the following requirements:
- AISSC – Scores awarded by CBSE should be based on the average of the best four academic subjects
- HSSC – Scores from state boards will be calculated based on the average of all subjects
- ISC – Scores will be calculated based on the average of the three best academic electives along with English
For 2020 postgraduate programs, the minimum passing score for group A(Percentage) and group B(Point system) are following:
- Group A – 50%(Second class) while WAM ranges from 50 to 60

While all applicants must provide evidence of English language proficiency, some programs may require different (higher) scores than Standard English which is equivalent to IELTS of 6.5.
Visa Process for International Students
Macquarie University gives admission to only those international students who get the Australian student visa by the approval of the Department of Home Affairs. For this, the students must submit the following:
- Completed Australian student visa application form (157A)
- Visa application fee
- Copy of passport biodata page
- Visa SOP
- Certificate of enrolment or letter of offer
- Evidence of sufficient funds
- Evidence of health insurance cover
- English proficiency test results
- Criminal record check results
- Four recent passport-sized photographs
To maintain a valid Student Visa, the student should have a valid Confirmation of Enrolment. If the university rules are breached, the student visa might get canceled.

Macquarie University also provides students an opportunity of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) policy. Students can get credit for their formal or informal qualifications which may result in reduced course work and shorter course duration. Students must provide evidence of formal and informal learning by visiting their website.
