Harrison Middleton University is a not-for-profit private distance-learning university offering Master of Arts, Doctor of Arts, and Doctor of Education programs in the humanities. LSAT Requirements

The LSAT is the best predictor before law school as to whether a student will pass or fail the bar exam. Schools that admit students who face a high risk of failing the bar may be taking advantage of them for their tuition dollars. However, the LSAT score is just a starting point for such an assessment. Undergraduate GPA, bar exam difficulty, and academic programs mitigate or exacerbate this starting point.

In 2010, only eight schools were classified as very high or extreme risk. That means that at least a quarter of students enrolled at each school reported a highest score of less than 146, which is the 29.6 percentile. As schools grew more desperate in subsequent years, the number of schools in these categories continued to grow, peaking at 50 law schools in 2016. The number declined to 42 in 2017 and to 24 in 2018, although three of the schools from 2016 stopped enrolling new students in 2017. In 2018, two more law schools stopped enrolling new students, of which one was high risk in 2017 and one was extreme risk.

The law school is noteworthy for its competitive acceptance rate (only 35%) as well as its remarkably low student-to-faculty ratio of 6 to 1. In the past several years, the student body has also diversified dramatically with female students now comprising almost 55% of the entire student population. Students of color now account for over 25% of the student body. The majority of students hail from the state of Florida as in-state tuition is nearly half the cost of out-of-state tuition. Academically, BC Law has one of the top tax programs in the country as well as strong curriculums in legal writing and environmental law. As a Catholic law school, BC Law also sustains a number of centers and programs focused on human rights and social justice. The law school also enjoys a strong reputation for graduating “practice-ready” attorneys as seen in their employment rate of 85%. To compile the rankings of Best Law Schools for Public Interest Law, The National Jurist used a scoring system based on a 100-point scale to assign point values to law schools in three equally weighted categories — student involvement, curriculum and financial factors. The categories reflected the same areas that Equal Justice Works recommends that students consider when investigating law schools.
