As you earn the BA in Traditional Music Studies, you will learn about traditional music forms and culture from a historical and contemporary perspective.
You will study Bluegrass, Old Time, Country, Western Swing, Blues, Ballad Singing, Celtic, Gospel and more while receiving hands-on experience through performance opportunities, outreach events with experienced faculty members, and interaction with musical artists and professionals in the industry.
Many of your classes will take place in the beautiful building that houses the Kentucky Center for Traditional Music where you’ll have access the Traditional Music Archives and the Traditional Music Recording Studio where you will take courses in the recording arts.
