Overview
The Regents Scholar program is for students receiving the Regent or Seaver scholarships. All students are considered for these merit-based scholarships at the time of application and are notified at the same time and in the same process as all other financial aid. No separate application is required.
Mission
The Regents Scholars program is designed to celebrate and promote academic excellence among the students at Seaver College. Both the curricular and co-curricular experiences for the Regents Scholars will challenge students to explore a multitude of issues and opportunities in the areas of coursework, undergraduate research, and service. By housing Regents Scholars together, the program aims to develop a vibrant community that promotes discussion, debate, and an open exchange of ideas on topics of utmost relevance to the world in which we live. Regents Scholars are expected to be leaders among their peers at Seaver College and will provide a strong pool of candidates to compete for nationally recognized fellowships and awards. At its best, the Regents Scholars program will challenge students to lead “lives of purpose, service, and leadership.”

Pepperdine Regents Scholarship GPA
Pepperdine University’s Regents’ Scholars Program rewards the academic achievement of a select group of entering fall freshmen students. Regents’ Scholars represent the students admitted to Pepperdine with the most outstanding academic achievements, based on a combination of the highest grade point averages (as Pepperdine calculates them), demonstrated course rigor, and overall university fit. The number of award recipients varies each year, but Regents’ Scholars typically represent 10% of the incoming class. Regents’ Scholars Program scholarships are awarded only at the time of admission and cannot be appealed. The two scholarships available in the program include:

Pepperdine is committed to providing church-related scholarship assistance to students from the Church of Christ tradition. There are two Christian scholarship opportunities for applicants that demonstrate active participation in their home Church of Christ congregation.
- Christian Leadership Award ($5,000)
STEP 1: Submit the general Pepperdine admission application by the November 1 deadline for Early Action or January 15 deadline for Regular Decision admission.
STEP 2: Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by November 1 for Early Action or February 15 for Regular Decision admission.
STEP 3: After you submit your application, you will receive access to the Pepperdine Application Portal, where you can request a Church of Christ recommendation. Your recommender will then receive an email with a link to fill out your recommendation.
- Pepperdine Legacy Partners (PLP) Helen Young Scholarship ($5,000)
Formerly known as the Associated Women for Pepperdine (AWP) Scholarship
STEP 1: Complete the Christian Leadership Award application process (Steps 1-3 above).
STEP 2: Submit a recommendation from a Church of Christ leader (minister, youth minister, elder, or deacon) and the Helen Young Scholarship form by February 15. You can access the recommendation and scholarship form through the Pepperdine Application Portal. If you already submitted a Church of Christ recommendation for the Christian Leadership Award, then you do not need to submit an additional recommendation.
These awards are automatically renewed for the same dollar amount each year as long as the student continues to meet the Terms and Conditions of the PLP contract. Students must maintain a cumulative 2.5 Pepperdine GPA and Satisfactory Academic Progress for the award to be renewed. These awards can only apply to tuition charges.
