Niche User: Tulane’s campus is just about the most beautiful campus I’ve ever seen. Following my tour, I went to talk to an admissions counselor and he was incredibly helpful with my questions about being deferred from early action, merit based aid I could receive, and any additional information I could provide to the university that might make me a better candidate. I ended up being put on the waitlist in early marsh, and I once again reached out to the admissions faculty. They were helpful and understanding. I ended up not only being accepted off the waitlist, but I also received a VERY generous merit scholarship and will be attending in the fall! Roll Wave!

2 Top Private Universities in Louisiana

Sophomore: Iโ€™m currently a student in nursing. I have completed my 1st semester of clinicals and I absolutely love this university. This is my first experience attending college and Iโ€™m only sad that my financial loans are already maxed out and I have 4 more semesters to finish. So Iโ€™m greatly distressed that all the hard work Iโ€™ve put in to this education may be lost and I will be nearly $60,000 in debt without my degree. Iโ€™m not certain how this has happened as Iโ€™ve followed all my advisors advice and took every required course they said I was required to take. Very expensive! Wishing I can graduate. ??????

3 Top Private Universities in Louisiana

Senior: Loyola University is a really amazing school. They are determined to making sure that all students have the proper materials to be in the work force. They are very adamant about making sure that internships are available to all students and making programs to make sure that jobs are attainable for our students. I am a student ambassador, and one thing that I mention on all of my tours is that our business school has a mentorship program. What this means is that, as a first year business student, you are partnered up with a New Orleans entrepreneur. As your college career goes on, you continue to shadow this person until your senior year with an internship with that person and then have a job with them by the time you graduate. I like to say, “that’s why our rates are so high.” I am a music therapy student, and I know that our faculty is extremely distinguished and do everything in their power to help us. I have never met better faculty than the music therapy department at Loyola.

Junior: I have loved the time that I have spent at Centenary College of Louisiana. The college has an excellent team of professors and provide free tutoring for students that are struggling with a concept. Classroom size is usually very small at Centenary which allows students to receive more attention from professors.
Centenary also provides a number of free counseling services along with a 24hr hotline for students experiencing distress.
This College also embraces diversity and celebrates it with a Diversity Week.
Lastly, the college has am amazing cafeteria team that strives to prepare food for all pallets. They have several options including vegan and vegetarian meal stations.

Louisiana College
4 Year Pineville, LA
Rating 3.36 out of 5 300 reviews
Senior: I initially attended LC to play golf, I played all four years and had a great time. The team might have not been the best, but the teammates I had, I will be friends with them forever. The curriculum was tough, I graduated in Business. My degree was basically a dual major but in one degree. I graduated with in Business Administration with specializations in management and marketing. I do wish that the president would put more money towards the programs to help get more teachers or even give the teachers more options as to how to teach or be active within the class. The school does tend to make budget cuts often, most likely due to the amount of scholarships that they give people to attend. With all that said, it is a private school so they do care about you being there and the teachers will help you to succeed, but it will be difficult.

Sophomore: Dillard university is a historical black University (HBCU). In the heart of Gentilly, this university that was once a plantation resides. My first year experience at Dillard university was a great experience. Throughout my first year I learned many things and made long lasting friend ships. At the prestigious Dillard university it feels like home. Which, I feel that every transition high school student should feel. The faculty, student life, and the overall environment is welcoming and always their in any time of need. Nevertheless, the transition from high school to college is a tough one, but with the right institution nothing is impossible.
