Ryerson’s Undergraduate Tuition and Fees is calculated on a per-credit basis, with the exception of some joint Ryerson/University of Toronto programs and the pre-professional programs. The table below outlines fees for full-time students. Part-time students are charged by the course (one half of the full-time rate). Tuition is charged at different rates from one type of institution to another. International Foundation Program (IUFP)The cost of the International University Foundation Program (IUFP) is $33,000 CDN (2020/2021) for all students (international and domestic). It includes two semesters of full-time study and four university-level, degree-credit courses (students can take up to two additional courses at their own cost during the spring/summer semester). Textbooks and course materials for degree-credit courses, accommodations, and meal plans are not included.Note: All tuition payments for the IUFP are non-refundable once the student has commenced their study.

Full-Time Undergraduate Fee Assessment:

  • Full-Time undergraduate fees are assessed based on billing units
  • Full-time undergraduate students registered in five to seven undergraduate billing units (Continuing Education courses excluded) are assessed one set fee
  • Full-Time undergraduate students registered in Continuing Education courses are assessed the Continuing Education course fee
  • Billing units that are not exact numbers will be rounded up when fees are assessed


Part-Time Undergraduate Fee Assessment:

  • Part-time undergraduate students are assessed fees per billing unit
  • Any Continuing Education courses are assessed the unit fee, not the Continuing Education course fee


Billing units are determined based on the number of contact hours* assigned to each course:  

  • Courses between 0.01 to 6.00 hours = 1 billing unit
  • Courses between 6.01 to 12.00 hours = 2 billing units
  • Course greater than 12.01 hours = 3 billing units

Equalization of Tuition for Students with Disabilities per Senate Policy #159
To ensure that students who must take a reduced course load, based on an approved accommodation for their disability, pay no more in tuition and applicable ancillary fees for completion of their program than a student without a disability completing the same program the Equalization of Tuition for Students with Disabilities procedures were developed.

Late Fee Service Charges

  • Tuition fees are posted for the fall term in August each year based on your course intentions and/or enrolments. Winter tuition fees are posted during the third week in September each year based on your course intentions and/or enrolments.
  • Tuition fees for the fall 2020 academic term are due September 18, 2020. Late fees of 1.25% (16.08% effective annual rate) will be charged monthly, starting in October, on unpaid fall 2020 undergraduate tuition fees as of September 19, 2020.
  • Tuition fees for the winter 2021 academic term are due January 29, 2021. Late fees of 1.25% (16.08% effective annual rate) will be charged monthly, starting in February, on unpaid winter 2021 undergraduate tuition fees as of January 30, 2021.
  • Late fees are charged on the third business day of the month.
  • If you are making your payment through your bank please make your payment 3-5 business days ahead of the deadline to ensure your payment is received and credited to your account.
  • If you are receiving OSAP or other government financial assistance, in the event that funding is received after the late fee posting date, you are responsible for any late fees incurred.

Notes
Domestic Fees – To be eligible for domestic fees you must be either a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada (otherwise known as landed immigrant) effective on the dates specified on an annual basis.
International Fees – Students who do not have the status specified above, or who apply to York and declare themselves as visa students will be charged tuition fees at international rates.

*Supplementary fees support athletics, counselling, cultural & special services and fees approved by student referenda.

** Example rate for a traditional single room. Students also pay an additional $80 Residence Life Activity & Administration Fee. Actual residence fees are based on the specific residence and room style assigned.

† Seniors (over 60) enrolled at York may have all or part of their academic fees waived at the domestic fee rate for York University degree credit courses. For application information, contact Admission Client Services at 416-736-5000. Details about fee waivers.
