GRE score of 300 (950 old scale) (Verbal & Quantitative Combined) for US Applicant or 306 (Verbal & Quantitative Combined) and 159 (Quantitative) for International Applicant. International Applicant without these minimum scores will not be admitted into the program.

Assemble one complete admissions packet, which must include the following:

  • One set of original and official transcripts of all previous academic work attempted.

You must submit 1 set of official transcripts in sealed envelopes from each issuing institution. This would include all degree transcripts and a transcript from the last institution attended. Your transcripts must reflect the last 60 semester (90 quarter) units attempted.

Students from India:  SDSU requires attested mark sheets from Indian schools not transcripts.  SDSU requires individual mark sheets for all studies (Bachelor, Master, etc.) with years of study, course titles and marks. Consolidated mark sheets will not be accepted. SDSU requires provisional degree certificates or final degree certificates earned for all studies. Marksheets and degree certificates can be attested by the university or the college. Once attested and sealed in an envelope by the university or college they can be mailed the student.

If you submit just transcripts your application will be considered incomplete and the department will not receive your application. Each year a number of Indian students submit just transcripts and find out too late that their application is incomplete due to a lack of mark sheets.

International documents: If you have international coursework, you must have your school send us one official original-language record of all academic coursework and proof of degree. For each document you must also send a certified literal English translation, which can come directly from the school itself or from a professional, certified translator. The translation must contain all information shown on the original-language documents. For details on which documents are required, visit the Requirements by Country page.
