The Texas A&M University Department of Computer Science is consistently ranked among the top departments in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, and has been a leader in establishing research centers that draw funding from industry and government agencies. Faculty from Computer Science have been awarded both NSF and NIH tenure, and 9 of our 40 Ph.D. students have been named to the ACM Distinguished Dissertation Fellowship List.

Our department’s undergraduate and graduate computer engineering programs (offered jointly with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering) are each ranked 14th among public institutions by the U.S. News & World Report. Our graduate program in computer science was ranked 15th among public institutions.

During the 2018-2019 academic year, Texas A&M University – College Station handed out 228 bachelor’s degrees in computer science. Due to this, the school was ranked #28 out of all colleges and universities that offer this degree. This is an increase of 17% over the previous year when 195 degrees were handed out.

Scholarships for International Students

  • The University offers a range of scholarships to study in the USA like International Freshman, International Transfer, and International Continuing Student Scholarships. While completing the admission application the scholarship segment also needs to be completed by the applicant maintaining the deadlines.
  • There is a Texas state grant only for International students known as the International Texas Public Education Grant. A separate application form needs to be submitted as per the required guidelines and the grant is available only to full-time international students as assessed by the Office of the registrar.
