The University of Michigan College of Engineering is the engineering unit of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. The university has an undergraduate admissions rate of 7%. The average SAT score at UM is 1450-1540 (math + verbal) or 3590-3870 (math only). The average ACT score at UM is 28-31 (composite). The university admits students from all 50 states and more than 100 countries. Their admissions process includes: submitting a completed application; writing an essay; submitting high school transcripts; taking either the SAT or ACT; submitting two teacher recommendations; taking either AP exams or IB exams (or both); having your GPA calculated by a computer program that considers your grades from 9th through 11th grade.

The application process for international students adds a bit more documentation than in-state applicants. There are a few things that the students applying from out of the country have to submit along with their application.
