There are several reasons why Germany is a paradise for prospective MBA students. Here are just some of these reasons:

How much does it cost to get an MBA degree in Germany?

Traditionally, MBA degree courses are the most expensive to attend and many students can’t afford it. Germany is not a major exemption to this rule, however, the cost of getting an MBA degree in Germany is more affordable than in popular countries like the UK, while at the same time is of a similar quality.

But more over: If the “Master of Business Administration” title isn’t that important to you and you would also go for another professional Masters degree (such as a “Master in Management” or an advanced “Master of Science”), then Germany offers some very affordable study options.

Since universities in Germany are allowed to charge students, whatever fees they decide to, the cost of an MBA degree in Germany varies largely. Typically, private universities charge higher tuition fees as they mostly rely on private funds, in contrast to public universities which accumulate huge funding from the government.

The bill for your MBA will also depend on what type of MBA course you’re choosing to attend. That said, the MBA Executive courses carry higher fees than Full-time MBA courses.

On average, tuition fees for Full-time MBA courses range from around €30,000 to €50,000, while for Executive MBA courses may amount to around €90,000.

If we compare the total cost of getting an MBA degree in the UK with that of Germany, it turns that an MBA degree in Germany will cost you by 15% less than in the UK, on average.

MBA Entry requirements

Entry requirements for a German MBA degree change from university to university. However, there is surely a list of documents that are common for all universities in Germany.

The following documents are mostly required to apply for your MBA degree course in Germany

A recognized undergraduate degree
A certified transcript of your grades
Strong GRE or GMAT scores
Proof of Language Proficiency (English or German)
Two to three years of professional experience (Optional)
Motivation and Reference Letters (Optional)

As per your undergraduate degree, you must first check if it’s recognized in Germany. Usually, universities have a list of qualifications that are accepted at their institutions. If the degree you’ve attained in your home country is not recognized in Germany, the University of your choice will require you to sit in a two-semesters preparatory course before you commence your regular studies.

Note that there are universities which may also accept other relevant qualifications or work experiences instead of an undergraduate degree.

Also, note that work experience is highly valued if you want to apply for MBA Executive degree courses.

How to apply for MBA in Germany?

Applications can be done online. All you have to do is to scan and convert your documents into PDF or JPG format and upload them online. Most German universities collect application through o common online application platform known as UniAssist. Others which don’t support applications through UniAssist normally run a personal online application platform.

Once you submit your application the university of your choice will send you an email to confirm they have received your documents and your application has entered the selection process.

Note that German universities deal with a large number of applications, therefore the processing of your documents takes time. In normal conditions, if you have applied properly with all documents included as required, the university will respond to you within a few weeks following your submission.

An important note: delayed applications are not taken into account, so always check carefully application deadlines.

How long does it take to get an MBA degree in Germany?

The duration of your MBA course in Germany changes from university to university. Typically, Full-time MBA and Executive MBA degrees in Germany last between 12 months and 24 months. Some courses make an exemption lasting 15 months, 18 months or 20 months.
