Studying abroad in Australia is a dream for many international students, but there are certain academic requirements that must be met in order to gain admission to universities in the country. Most Australian universities typically accept an average GPA ranging between 2.8 and 3.3 for international student admission. But how much GPA is actually required to study in Australia?

To study at a university in Australia, the basic entry requirement for most bachelor degree programs is a good first division or at least a GPA of 2.8 in NEB or equivalent. This shows that students must have a solid academic background in order to be considered for admission. The Graduate entry professional qualifications or Pre-masters Diploma is a Postgraduate masters degree programme for students that have at least completed their undergraduate degree but want to qualify for masters in another course related to their undergraduate degree programme.

A master degree programme in Australia will roughly cost about AUD $22,000 – AUD $50,000 (USD $16,530 – $37,575) per year depending on the course, institution and country of origin.

Each University in Australia has their specific school fee and tuition fee for each masters programme. Most of the Universities’ school fee are not influenced by the country of the student.

In other hands, some universities have very tuition fee for students from different countries and different careers. but in general, the Australian government has no direct influence on the fees.

Applying for a Masters in Australia

However you apply, you will need to provide a completed application form and proof of your existing qualifications.

  • Academic transcripts – These provide additional details of your undergraduate education, such as the modules you have studied and your performance on them. Your undergraduate university will need to produce and certify these documents.
  • References – These should include statements from your undergraduate tutors and / or professional employers, as appropriate.

For undergraduate departments, you need to have a high school diploma and at least 63% success rate. For graduate departments, Anglia Ruskin University expects an average of over 2.5. For language proficiency, you should have a score of 6.0 and above, not less than 5.5 in each section of IELTS.

Birmingham City University

The university, located in Birmingham, England, originally was found as a College of Art, but in 1992 it gained university status. The university, which is among the top 300 in the list of young universities, has many fields such as Social Sciences, Engineering, Science, Art and Language Sciences.

For the undergraduate departments, a high school diploma with an average of 70% is expected, and for the graduate departments, an average of 2.5 and above is expected. The school also wants some portfolio details in the areas such as Art and Design. In terms of English proficiency, like most schools, the general IELTS score should be 6.0 and above.

De Montfort is a public university located in Leicester. The university, which ranks 67th among the UK universities, provides education in many fields such as Social Sciences, Science, Engineering, Business Administration and Arts.

For Turkish students, A high school diploma with a 75% average is required. For the master’s degree, although it varies from department to department, a minimum average of 2.7 is required. The university, which accepts the IELTS exam in terms of English language proficiency, is looking for 6.0 and above scores as an overall score.
