Located in Burgundy, between Paris and Lyon, uB has its main campus in Dijon, and several others spread across Burgundy.

It counts 10 faculties, 4 engineering schools, 3 institutes of technology offering undergraduate courses, and 2 professional institutes providing post-graduate programmes.

uB enrols 27,000 students, among whom 3,000 international students, every year.

The University of Burgundy (FrenchUniversité de BourgogneuB; formerly known as Université de Dijon) is a public university located in DijonFrance.

The University of Burgundy is situated on a large campus (more than 150 ha) in the west part of Dijon of called Campus Montmuzard, about 15 minutes by tram from the city centre. The humanities and sciences are well represented on the main campus, along with law, medicine, and literature in separate buildings. The IUT (Institute of technology) is also on the campus, providing specialist higher level diplomas in business, biology, communications and computer science.

The university counts 10 faculties, 4 engineering schools, 3 institutes of technology offering undergraduate courses, and 2 professional institutes providing post-graduate programmes.

With numerous student societies and good support services for international and disabled students, the campus is a welcoming place with numerous CROUS restaurants and canteens providing subsidised food and snacks.

In 2018, the number of students was 30,917 divided into six areas, Dijon, AuxerreChalon-sur-SaôneLe CreusotMâcon and Nevers. The territorial areas (Dijon excepted) receive about 89% of the total of students.[2] There are about 2 783 foreign students in 2018. 66% of the students are from Burgundy.

The CIEF (Centre International d’Études Françaises) allows students at all proficiency levels to immerse themselves in French language classes.


MASTER DEGREES

After acquiring a Bachelor’s degree, students can apply for a Master’s degree at the University of Burgundy.

The University of Burgundy offers more than 130 master programmes. They are mainly focused on research or professional training but combined research and professional masters are possible.

The University of Burgundy houses three engineering schools :

  • ESIREM : School of Materials Research and Engineering
  • ISAT : Institute for Automotive and Sustainable Development
  • ITII : Burgundy Engineering School of Industrial Techniques

Students are admitted via competitive examination or by application and interview depending on their educational background.

This two-year automotive engineering program in Europe at master level (3 semesters & 1 internship semester), entirely taught in English in both European automotive engineering universities ISAT & Polytech’Orleans, aims at preparing future automotive student-engineers for a professional career with a broad knowledge in automotive systems adapted to the new trends (hybrid propulsion, electrical vehicle, bio-materials, alternative fuels, fleet management…) while offering specialisations central to the industry & research to meet these requirements.
