The UT dance program and dance major offer a distinctive focus in preparing students to become leaders in the field of dance education in a variety of capacities and settings, including teaching in private studios and community dance programs serving diverse populations.

There is also strong foundational preparation for further study at the graduate level. The curriculum is built around the concepts of brain-compatible dance education, as developed by  Anne Green Gilbert. The USF dance program offersย an outstanding faculty to students. Eight full-time faculty members bring a wide range of knowledge to students. In addition, the USF dance program hosts guest artists with the support of its John W. โ€œWe’ll bring in very significant choreographers to set works on the studentsย 

All eligible UF students are welcome to enroll in UF Dance classes. Students who want to enroll in Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced Modern, Ballet, or Jazz must first take a placement exam.
