The University of Louisville is a public university located in Louisville, Kentucky. It was founded in 1798 and is currently the largest university in Kentucky with an enrollment of more than 23,000 students.
The main campus is located in downtown Louisville and consists of 80 acres. The school has been ranked as one of the top 50 best public universities in the United States by U.S. News & World Report for the past several years.
The school’s athletic teams are known as the Cardinals. They compete in NCAA Division I athletics and currently field 22 varsity sports teams, including baseball, basketball, football, golf and track & field among others.
