University of Southern California Programs

USC offers various courses for international students which includes nearly 95 undergraduate and 147 academic and professional programs. Plus, the graduate programs (also known as comprehensives) offer 134 masters, doctoral and professional degrees. All of these fall in three of the following categories: Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences for the undergraduate programs; the Graduate School for the graduates; and the 18 professional schools of the university for the remaining courses.

The university has two primary campuses, both located in the heart of Los Angeles. First, is the University Park Campus. This 229-acre campus is located in the University Park district of Los Angeles, 4.4 miles (7.08 km) southwest of Downtown Los Angeles and is also within walking distance to Los Angeles landmarks such as the Shrine Auditorium and Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The Health Sciences Campus, to the northeast of downtown Los Angeles, is home to the Keck School of Medicine of USC, the School of Pharmacy, three major teaching hospitals.   • Campus accommodation is taken care of by the mammoth USC Village, a 1.25-million-square-foot residential and retail centre directly adjacent to USC’s University Park campus. USC village has over 130,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor, with student housing on the four floors above.
  • Estimated yearly living expenses (for suite and residence hall double room types) including two semesters of rent, default required full meal plans and optional parking, range from 14,559 to 19,609 USD for freshmen and 12,335 to 14,835 USD for upperclassmen. Rents for some assignments, especially single-occupancy room types, are higher. 

Off-Campus Accommodation

  • USC offers an official off-campus housing directory, where students can find a perfect fit for their needs. Maintained, verified and approved by a diligent team of campus managers, the directory allows you to filter your searches by selecting an area, a number of bedrooms & bathrooms, and maximum rent. Advanced searches include distance to campus, zone, term, start-end price, among others. 
  • Additionally, USC Housing has partnered with Off-Campus Housing 101 to provide students with listings of all available rentals from private landlords near both university campuses. University of Southern California Scholarships

The university offers several scholarships for international students to study in the USA. Funds originate from a variety of university, federal, state, and private sources; but unlike loans, no repayment is required. 

International Freshman Academic

  • Award Amount: Varies along with a number of awards.
  • Eligibility:
    • Candidates at the top of the applicant pool with respect to standardized test scores, typically in the top 10 per cent of their high school classes.
    • Open for international undergraduate students who will be entering, or have already entered, the United States with a student visa. 
    • International fee-paying students should only apply for this scholarship.

Asian Pacific Alumni Association

  • Award Amount: 1000-5000 USD.
  • Eligibility
    • Open for currently enrolled USC undergraduate students, transfer, graduate, professional or international students. 
    • Awarded based on merit and/or need-based criteria. Candidates should have a minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale), demonstrate active involvement in the Asian Pacific American community, and be enrolled in a full-time academic program at USC. 
    •  Awarded students are required to complete 15 community service hours with APAA.
