At Arden University we believe that everyone, everywhere should be able to study. For over 25 years, we’ve delivered quality Higher Education that fits around our students lives.

We offer a range of Masters and MBAs that can be studied flexibly by online distance learning.

Alternatively, if you’re a UK resident and need more structure, you can study via blended learning, where you’ll study a full-time qualification with part-time campus hours at one of our study centres in London, Birmingham or Manchester.

Our flexible study modes mean that 90% of our students work alongside their studies. With Arden, you don’t need to put your career or earnings on hold in order to achieve a postgraduate qualification.
Previously known as RDI, Arden University offers access to degrees, masters and MBA programmes in both online distance learning and flexible on-campus study modes. This flexibility attracts students of all ages, from 18 to 80 years old, who are supported both on-campus (at one of our study centres in Birmingham, Manchester or London) and online.

Arden University History

Arden University started life in 1990 as Resource Development International (RDI). In April 2014 the university was awarded Taught Degree Awarding Powers (TDAP).
The change of name to Arden University in August 2015 also signalled the only specialist online learning university to launch in the UK in the last 50 years.
Over 50,000 students worldwide have unlocked their potential by studying a degree, masters or MBA programme through either online distance learning or flexible on-campus study.

Introduction

Your Arden University journey starts here. We know that applying for university can be daunting, but we’re here to help you every step of the way.

Information for international students

You must meet the following requirements to be admitted to a degree programme.

  • You must have a minimum academic qualification of your home country. It’s best to check with your own country’s education authorities (or previous school) before applying. The qualifications we accept are listed on our website here: https://www.ardenuni.edu/international-students/qualifications/. If you don’t have this, we cannot accept your application for admission and you’ll need to go back and get it first!
  • You’ll need to prove that you can communicate in English at an intermediate level by taking an internationally recognised English language test such as IELTS or TOEFL with a score of 6+ (with minimum 5 in all subcategories). If your first language is not English then we also require evidence of spoken fluency in addition to written fluency; this could include one of the tests mentioned above plus work experience or other relevant documentation from organisations who employ native speakers (e.g., multinational companies). We recognise that not everyone has access to such tests so if there’s no way for us find out about what level of English proficiency you have then please let us know when completing our application form – we may still be able to help!

Academic entry requirements

To be eligible for entry, you’ll need to meet the following academic requirements:

  • You must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • You must have at least 2 years’ work experience under your belt.
  • You must hold a minimum 2.1 undergraduate degree from a recognised UK university/college or an overseas equivalent with acceptable grades.
  • If you don’t meet these requirements, you may still be considered if you have significant relevant professional or research experience post-degree (for example, if your industry qualification is at level 7 or above).

English language requirements

If you want to study in the UK, you will need to have a good command of English. This means that you will need to demonstrate this using one of the following tests:

  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) – The minimum score is 550 (paper based), 213 (computer based) or 80 (internet based). If your score falls between 4 and 5 on the IELTS exam, we can still consider your application but it must be supported by suitable additional evidence. For example an essay or letter from an academic institution confirming attendance at their classes.
  • CAE/CPE Exams – We require a minimum overall grade B2 level for these exams

Work experience requirements

Work experience requirements

As an undergraduate student, you’re required to have at least three years of professional work experience. This can be gained before or during your studies and can be in any sector or location. The role doesn’t matter as long as it has sufficient responsibility and challenges you in some way.

Application process

To apply to the University, you must:

• Complete an application form. Find out how to apply and pay fees on our website.

• Submit your application and supporting documents by the deadline. You can check your application status on our website or contact us if you need help.

We recommend that you complete your degree before applying as this will mean that we can consider your academic background when assessing your course entry requirements.
