September 11, 2015

NEW YORK, NY — September 11, 2015 —Baruch College has been ranked #1 among the “50 Best Value Colleges for a Psychology Degree” by Bestvalueschools.com.

“For one of the most affordable psychology programs in the country, choose CUNY Bernard M. Baruch College. A net price of just $8,000 a year will keep your student debt low, freeing you to focus on more important matters – like psychology,” the site said.

Baruch College also ranked #3 in the “50 Best Value Colleges and Universities in New York 2015” category, behind Columbia and Cornell.

“Baruch College, one of the premier members of New York’s CUNY system, has a reputation that places it on the same level as Columbia, NYU, and many other top New York colleges. Not only is it in the top 15% of universities nationwide,” the site said, but it also “ranks as one of the most ethnically diverse colleges in the U.S. The 18,000 students who call Baruch home for the majority of the year hail from 170 countries and speak 110 languages, guaranteeing that BC students become culturally competent, globally engaged citizens.”

Methodology: The ranking was created using National Center for Education Statistics’ College Navigator Data to identify the most affordable competitive institutions offering bachelor’s degrees in psychology. Results were sorted by net price and the 50 least expensive schools were selected. Net price takes into account tuition, room and board, living expenses, educational fees, institutional scholarships, federal loans, and other monetary factors, offering a single annual cost that approximates how much the average student can expect to pay for a year of school at that university.
