The program is designed to prepare students for careers in veterinary medicine. The program provides students with a comprehensive curriculum that covers everything from animal care and business management to medical and surgical techniques. Students will learn how to perform medical procedures on animals, which include dental care, anesthesia, minor surgery, and more. Students will also learn how to manage their own business by learning how to develop an effective marketing plan and website for their practice.

The program is offered at Broward College’s Fort Lauderdale campus as well as online. Full-time classes are offered Monday through Thursday from 6:00 pm until 10:50 pm. Part-time classes are offered Monday through Thursday from 6:00 pm until 9:50 pm or Friday from 6:00 pm until 5:50 pm.

In order to enroll in this program, students must have completed at least 30 college credits with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 out of 4.0 or better on all courses taken at Broward College or another accredited institution of higher education within the past two years prior to applying for admission into this program; OR have graduated high school (or obtained equivalency certificate)

The Patient Care Assistant program at ITT Technical Institute is designed to give you the skills you need to work in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and doctor’s offices.

The program is designed for those who want to pursue careers as Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). The coursework covers topics like anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, patient assessment and communication skills.

You’ll also learn about infection control procedures and how to complete basic medical tasks like bandaging wounds or taking vital signs.

The Patient Care Assistant program takes 3.5 months to complete, and graduates are eligible to take the Florida Certification Exam for Nursing Assistants, which is required to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Scholarship opportunities are available to those who qualify.
