Vanderbilt Out of State Tuition

Vanderbilt recently announced a change to how they calculate out-of-state tuition for undergraduate students in the School of Engineering, Computer Science, and Biomedical Engineering, in an effort to make their Vanderbilt education more affordable.

The new policy will be effective for incoming freshmen who are not residents of Tennessee. Undergraduate students will pay out-of-state tuition if they have lived at least two years in another state prior to attending Vanderbilt University. This means that any high school student who has lived in another state for at least two years (and graduated from high school there) would be considered an out-of-state student and would pay higher tuition than those who live in Tennessee.
